YOUNG racers are being urged to take up the challenge of wheel-to-wheel combat on the streets of New Milton this summer.
Students from the town’s Arnewood School will be among those lining up on the town centre starting grid for the junior race in this year’s New Milton Pedal Car Grand Prix on July 12.
Design teacher David Cornford described the efforts of his team of six students as “tremendous” and urged other schools to take on the challenge.
“It’s a fantastic project. There’s been so much to learn.
“This year we’ve had tremendous input from the students.
“They really have built the whole car,” said Mr Cornford.
Race director Conrad Curtis, urged other schools and junior teams to hand in their entry forms by the closing date of May 31.
