Tonight’s episode of I’m A Celebrity saw Barry McGuigan break down in tears as he spoke about his late daughter who died five years ago.

He talked about his daughter Danika’s battle with leukaemia and how she went through two years of chemotherapy before her health improved.

Barry explained how “she fought back and she won it”.

However, she had a second bout of cancer, with Barry tearing up and explaining: “Stage four bowel cancer. Five weeks, she died. She suffered so much pain and then she said Mum I can't hold on.”

He explained that despite it being five years after the loss of his daughter, he had “tried to talk about it (his grief)” but said he was still struggling.

Barry said he doesn’t go to church as much as he did before the loss of his child.

He said: “No matter what I do, it just all comes back.”

He thanked his campmates for being understanding as he cried and they gathered around him: “Thank you. You're all too lovely. I really appreciate it.”

Danny Jones commented: “I really really feel for Barry and his family because no one should ever go through that.”

Tulisa told Barry: “It’s a reflection of your love. The extent that you’re holding onto a memory. That doesn’t mean you’re weak, it means this is how much I love my daughter and I’m grieving.”
