Jack Cork is aiming to prove to Chelsea he has improved from the player who never got a game at Stamford Bridge by helping Saints knock the holders out of the FA Cup this afternoon.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea aged nine and rose through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but never got a first team game as expensive signing after expensive signing pushed him down the pecking order.
Cork ended up farmed out on loan six times before his permanent move to Saints almost 18 months ago.
“I am looking forward to playing against them,” he said ahead of the third round tie at St Mary’s.
“I never got the opportunity to play with them when I was there so hopefully we can go and put a good performance in. I am looking forward to seeing some old faces."
