Blackpool could offer Nigel Adkins a swift return to management following his controversial sacking at Saints, with the Seasiders hoping they don’t miss out on him for a second time this season.
It is understood that the Championship side were keen on acquiring Adkins’ services following the departure of Ian Holloway for Crystal Palace in early November.
Blackpool were thought to be keeping tabs on the situation at Saints at that time, when Adkins’ job was under serious threat.
They are now looking for a new boss after former Pompey manager Michael Appleton left to take over at Blackburn.
Adkins was quickly installed as odds-on favourite to take over at the Seasiders, following his dismissal from Saints yesterday.
The job could certainly hold some appeal him, should he wish to make a swift return.
Although Blackpool went into this weekend 15th in the Championship, they possess some promising young players.
