This is the man who has been linked with a move to join fellow Uruguayan Gastón Ramírez at St Mary’s.
Gonzalo Bueno, a 20-year-old wonderkid nicknamed El Zorro, is being tracked by a number of top European clubs and is rumoured to be attracting interest from Saints.
Bueno plays for Nacional Montevideo in his home country and has won rave reviews for his skill and his goals from an attacking left-sided midfield role.
The under-23 international has really established himself over the past season, scoring 12 goals in 37 appearances.
The Uruguyan League season is currently ongoing, and Bueno has scored twice in his club’s last 10 matches.
Bueno’s current contract expires in 2016 and his club are said to want around £8m to consider selling him.
Sources have played down the chance of Saints signing Bueno, though it seems he is on the radar as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add a winger to his squad for 2013/14.
