EASTLEIGH have yet to see the best of versatile full back Dan Spence.
So says Spitfires boss Richard Hill, who has agreed a one-year contract with the 23-year-old, Reading-born defender as the club gear up for another Conference South promotion push.
Spence – formerly of Woking, Mansfield, Jerez Industrial (Spain), Salisbury and Reading – was originally signed by Eastleigh on non-contract terms from Hayes & Yeading in February this year.
But his season was cruelly cut short by a shoulder ligament injury in only his fourth club appearance at home to Havant & Waterlooville.
Hill quipped: “Not heaping any pressure on Dan, but I rate him very highly. He’s another player I tried to sign back in November, but he chose to stay at Hayes.
“He’s a versatile player that can play in either full-back position. He’s got a lot of talent and no one at Eastleigh has seen anywhere near the best of him yet.”
