Nathaniel Clyne and his under-21 teammates have been called upon to produce a performance "befitting of England" to put their European Championship campaign back on track.
Having arrived in Israel on a run of nine successive wins without conceding, things quickly went awry in their opening match against Italy.
Few could have argued with the Azzurrini's 1-0 win - a result that leaves England bottom of Group A heading into today’s vital clash against Norway.
The Young Lions now need a victory in Petah Tikva to kick-start their tournament and help stave off the threat of a group-stage exit for a second tournament in a row.
"We have got a strong squad of players that want to put things right," said manager Stuart Pearce. "Talk is cheap.
"We have spoken a bit about what has come out of the game. The important thing now for me is that the players to deliver a performance befitting of England.
"I think if our performance is good we'll win the game. I think we need to see a touch more energy and drive and a bit more confidence on the ball.
"We've played some good football over the last few months, irrespective of our results.
"We've had some good movement and interaction in the team - that didn't show itself against Italy.
"I certainly think it will [against Norway]. I think we just needed to show a bit more devilment and we had the ball we needed to show a bit more composure with our movement and our flair.
"We've got some good players in our team and too many of them didn't show that character. But I'm confident they will [against Norway]."
The Scandinavians are no slouches, though.
Despite being reduced to ten men in the first half of their opener against Israel, they fought out a 2-2 draw and boast a squad including 15 players with senior experience.
"They are a very well organised side with some very talented players," Pearce said.
"This is as strong a group as they have had at Under-21 level for a number of years.
"Quite a few of them have been involved in the seniors. They play a good brand of football.
"They are very well organised, athletic, with a good team spirit and play good football.
"They have played some tough games and we were fortunate in both the games we played against them to come out on top.
"I think the pressure is on both teams. There is no more pressure on us than them.
"Norway know if they get beat they have another chance, we know if we get beat we don't have another chance.
"We're looking forward to the game, confident in our own ability but we know exactly the task in front of us."
England are boosted heading to Petah Tikva by the return of Danny Rose and Thomas Ince from suspension.
Henri Lansbury continues to miss out with a groin strain, but Wilfried Zaha could start at the Ha Moshava Stadium.
The 20-year-old, star of Crystal Palace's rise to the Premier League, has been battling an ankle injury, which disrupted training earlier in the week and prevented him from facing Italy.
"He is like any other player, he has been kicking his heels," Pearce added.
"We have brought him on slowly over the last couple of days in regard to the slight injury he has had.
"He was outstanding in training yesterday and it was the same again today. He is showing me that he is fit for selection."
