Noadswood School are celebrating after winning the New Forest Athletics Championships.
The Dibden Purlieu school’s Year 7 girls relay team not only won but also beat the New Forest record twice – first in the heats and then again in the final. The Year 10/11 girls relay team also won with Michelle Bigg in Year 11 storming the final leg. Bigg has competed in the event for the last five years, ending on a high by winning the Long Jump and the 200m as well as the relay. The U15 boys won, as did the school’s U15 team overall, while Ben Brearley won both the javelin and 800m in his final year to help the U17 Boys triumph as well. With the U17 girls team coming second, this meant Noadswood also won the U17 overall trophy. As a result of all that, and for the first time in many years, Noadswood took home the Overall trophy.
