The father and son duo of Keith and Danny Panks collected several of the top awards at the Lymington Spring open shore competition held along the Hordle Cliff section.
Danny won the top award with a 4lb 9.25oz catch of dogfish while dad Keith was sixth, writes CHRIS CLARK.
The pair also carried off the team prize. The prize for the heaviest round fish was won by Darren Pease with a 4lb 8.5oz spotted ray while the flat fish pool was won by Derek Slack with a 1lb 11.5oz turbot. Not a single smoothhound was landed, but species recorded included garfish, dogfish, spotted rays, turbot and pouting.
Results: 1st Danny Panks 4lb 9.25oz, 2nd Darren Pease 4lb 8.5oz, 3rd John Sloper 4lb 1oz, 4th Keith Warren 3lb 11.5oz, 5th Adrian Smith 3lb 7.5oz, 6th Keith Panks 3lb 7.5oz. The junior section was won by Brad Smith, a member of the host club, with 1lb 11.5oz followed by Cameron Saunders with 1lb 6oz.
