James Ward-Prowse insists he will learn a lot from England’s early Under-20 World Cup exit in Turkey.
The Saints midfielder was one of the stand-out players in Peter Taylor’s squad over the three group games that brought no wins and just two points.
England’s final game saw them lose 2-0 to Egypt on Saturday.
Ward-Prowse believes that the whole experience of the last three weeks will prove important in the squad’s future careers.
“All 21 of us are going to go home now having learned from this,” he said.
“We’re going to go back to our clubs with broader shoulders after the pressure of a World Cup.
“We knew we had to win the game (against Egypt), but unfortunately that didn’t happen.
“But it’s been a good experience for all of us.”
