AFC TOTTON are trying to raise funds for the financially stricken club by setting up a donation system.
The Stags, who are around £185,000 in debt, have called on their fans for support.
Interim chairman Andy Straker says fans can contribute in one of two ways – either by making a donation for the executive committee to pay off current debt or by having their donation turned into shares.
With the latter option, the money would not assist the club at the present time. It would therefore be put into trust until such time that a share option proposition can be put to the members and agreed.
“Sadly we are nowhere near being able to bring the shares proposition at this time due to our commitment to keeping AFC Totton going and playing in the Southern Premier League,” said Straker.
“Our favoured option would be option one, but we will understand if fans wish to make donations under option two.
“We have already had numerous donations which we are using to pay bills which need immediate attention.
“We thank those supporters that have donated already for their generous support.

Totton, meanwhile, have added another pre-season fixture to their programme.
The Stags will host Conference South new boys Gosport Borough on Monday week (July 15, 7.30).
Steve Riley’s men are due to play their opening friendly at Blackfield & Langley this Tuesday (July 9, 7.30).
