EASTLEIGH were caught cold early in each half as they succumbed 3-0 to npower League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers in their pre-season opener at the Silverlake.
With just three minutes gone, Spitfires keeper Ross Flitney brought down Dean Morgan who punished him from the penalty spot.
Having warmed up with a 1-0 win at Eastleigh’s Conference South rivals Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, Wycombe struck again two minutes after the break when Matt Spring broke through and beat Flitney’s half-time replacement Jack Dovey.
Ex-Saint Dovey then made an excellent save to deny Jon-Paul Pittman before Max Kretschmar sent the rebound over.
Pittman, though, had the last word, slotting home Wycombe’s 82nd-minute third from close range.
