AFC Totton striker Nathaniel Sherborne continued his recovery from a broken leg by scoring in tonight’s friendly defeat at home to Gosport Borough.
Sherborne, who missed all of last season with the injury, netted a 55th minute consolation as Gosport won 2-1 in front of a healthy crowd of 220 at Testwood Park.
Gosport, who included ex-Totton star Mike Gosney in their ranks, were 2-0 up inside 16 minutes against a Stags side mainly made up of last season’s youth team and trialists.
Bradey Norton fired them in front on 11 minutes and Jack Barton curled a 25-yard effort in off a post shortly after.
Totto’s sub keeper Ali Pugi made good saves in the second half from Gosney and another ex-Stags striker, Justin Bennett, while the hosts’ Luke Roberts had a goal disallowed for offside 12 minutes from time.
