Grzegorz Rasiak is hoping 13 won't prove an unlucky number for him.

That's the number of goals the Saints striker has scored already this season after a double against Hull in the 4-2 win at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

It puts him joint top of the Championship's goalscoring charts alongside Norwich's Welsh international Robert Earnshaw.

And, with over half the season still to go, puts into perspective Saints' main problem last campaign - their top scorer, Ricardo Fuller, only netted nine league goals in the entire season.

But Rasiak is the first to admit he scores in bursts - he belted seven in six league games earlier in the season and has now bagged five in his last four outings.

He is hoping not to be stuck on the traditionally unlucky 13 for too long. After completing his seven-in-six burst with a double at Burnley on September 23, Rasiak then went six league games without scoring.

He said: "Sometimes I score very often and sometimes I have a long break.

"But most important at the moment is that we look good and we're playing some nice football.

"The last four games we have scored 13 goals so it's nice to score the goals and win the games.

"The first goal I had a fantastic ball from Kenwyne and I scored which was easy and the second Rudi passed me the ball and I scored again."

Rasiak is understandably happy with Saints' recent form which has seen them win their last four on the trot and take 17 points out of their last possible 21.

He has his mind set on automatic promotion after the heartache of a play-off semi-final defeat in 2004/05 under George Burley at Derby.
