Guly do Prado scored a nine minute hat-trick as Saints handed out a pre-season thumping to Spanish minnows Palamos.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were in irrepressible form and found their opponents no match for their Premier League quality as they romped to an 8-0 win.
Pochettino made nine changes at half time and would have been delighted that both teams were so dominant.
Adam Lallana opened the scoring on 11 minutes with Jason Puncheon adding another three minutes later before Morgan Schneiderlin made it 3-0 at half time.
The second half side were not to be outdone though with Do Prado leading the way in impressive fashion.
Jay Rodriguez made it 4-0 from the penalty spot on the hour mark before the Brazilian started his scoring spree, completing his hat-trick in the space of just nine minutes.
Luke Shaw rounded off the scoring with five minutes remaining.
