CHARITY FOOTBALLERS: Competitors line up in the eighth annual Sophie’s Appeal charity football tournament at Crestwood College in Eastleigh. Sophie’s Appeal was started in 2003 by Lin and Mike Barringer with some close friends following the diagnosis of their daughter Sophie, pictured right, with Wilm’s Disease. The cancer of the kidney claimed Sophie’s life in December 2004 aged six. AFC Bishopstoke defeated AFC Spirit to win the senior section while Fleming Legends defeated Ze Germans to win the junior section. More pictures appear in this weekend’s Sports Pink.
