Snows Toyotas Dave Higgins won the Eastleigh and District Memorial Match on Stoneham Top Lake fished in memory of Eastleigh members who have passed away. The victory was extra special for Higgins who used to fish in the original Marshall Rolfe Team Toyota with match angler Steve Pack, who is no longer with us. Drawn on peg 88, Higgins got off to a flyer, taking five carp in the first two hours before struggling to add two carp and a bream in the rest of the match, writes Mark Simmonds. Working with a small method feeder with hair rigged corn for bait, Higgins weighed in a total of 56lb 10oz with carp to 10lb. Brett Cooper (Hansfords MG) took six carp for 54lb 4oz from peg 49 by the small island on pole and pellet for second.
Others: R.Penny 54lb 2oz, C.Egerton 37lb 6oz, J.Turner 31lb 6oz, J.Clark 30lb 2oz. Section winners R.Allen 23lb 4oz, C.Egerton 37lb 6oz and J.Turner 31lb 6oz.
