FORMER Saints midfielder Nigel Quashie could become the first player ever relegated from the Premiership THREE years running.
Quashie last night joined West Ham from West Brom in a deal that could be worth £1.75 million.
Albion will receive a guaranteed £1.5 million from the transfer plus a further £250,000 if the Hammers retain their top-flight status this term or regain it during any season in which Quashie is under contract at Upton Park.
The move is Quashie's third January transfer window switch in a row.
But the omens don't look good for the lowly Hammers - Saints and West Brom were both relegated shortly after Quashie joined them!
