SAINTS loanee Dani Osvaldo’s Europa League dream is over.
Osvaldo and his Juventus colleagues went into last night’s semi final second leg tie at home to Benfica trailing 2-1.
And despite Mark Clattenburg sending off the visitors’ Enzo Perez with 21 minutes left, Juve failed to take advantage and could only manage a 0-0 draw.
Osvaldo only managed 12 minutes after being introduced as a late sub.
That meant another frustrating evening for the Italian international striker who is looking increasingly likely to return to St Mary’s at the end of this season.
Having only netted two Europa League goals since arriving in Turin at the end of January, Juve are unlikely to want to make Osvaldo’s move permanent.
Benfica will now face Sevilla in the final, ironically back at Juventus’ stadium.
Sevilla scored a last minute consolation in a 3-1 loss at Valencia last night to progress to the final on the away goals rule.
