Saints could face former Manchester United midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba tomorrow after he signed on loan until the end of the season for Burnley.
The Aston Villa midfielder is eligible to play against Saints at St Mary's tomorrow.
Djemba-Djemba failed to make an impact in the midlands following his £1.3m transfer from United in January 2005 and Burnley boss Steve Cotterill hopes the 25-year-old's desire to succeed at Turf Moor will make up for his lack of match fitness after two years on the fringes.
The Burnley boss said: "He has not played a lot of football but obviously on the back of Micah Hyde leaving we had to move to do something.
"Eric has good pedigree and we are hoping that once we get him fit he will be a good addition to the squad for the rest of the season.
"It shows something about the boy's character that he is prepared to drop down from the Premiership to play for Burnley."
