George Burley has refuted claims that Saints have accepted a bid from Hull for David Prutton.
Saints turned down a bid from the Tigers for the 25-year-old midfielder last week but Hull manager Phil Brown was quoted at the weekend as saying: "The second bid we made has been accepted by and we have been given permission to talk to him."
Burley, however, insists that Saints have not accepted a second bid from Hull and that Prutton remains a part of his squad.
He said: "There has been no bid accepted from Hull City.
"I've seen that (reports that the bid has been accepted) but there is no change in the situation.
"We turned down a bid last week and there is no change as far as Hull and David is concerned.
"The situation is exactly the same as last week."
