BANISTER Park are certainly the club of the moment - and not only indoors.
After an outstanding winter which has seen them reach the last 16 of the Denny Cup and well represented in the national championships the Stoneham Laners have recruited a clutch of illustrious bowlers for the outdoor campaign from arch rivals Southampton Sports Centre.
Graham Standley, Adam Tidby, Mark Hammond, Mark's father Peter and Mick Slade - all key members in Sports Centre's title-winning S&D line-up last year - have switched their allegiance to Banister Park for the 2007 summer season.
All apart from Hammond senior are current Middleton Cup bowlers while four of them - Tidby being the exception - have been stalwarts of Banister Park's fine winter which saw the club so nearly topple Denny Cup-holders Egham this month.
