Saints have NOT received a fresh bid for starlet Gareth Bale.
It is reported they have accepted a £10m offer from Tottenham for the 17-year-old Welsh international.
But the Daily Echo understands no offer has even been made.
The only two official bids received this month for Bale have both been rejected - the highest being £8m from Manchester United, which was around double what Tottenham initially offered for one of British football's hottest properties.
A source told the Echo last night: "There has been no bid from any club for £10m or any other bid other than the two that were rejected earlier this month.
"While it is known that clubs other than Spurs and Manchester United remain interested, there has been no fresh approach and they have not yet made a bid".
The Echo also understands that weekend reports that United had tied up a deal to sign Bale in the summer are also incorrect.
