Matty Taylor became the second 16-year-old in Calmore Sports’ ranks to score a Southern Electric Premier League Division 2 century this season when he made an unbeaten 111 in the 79-run defeat at Hartley Wintney.
Making only his fifth Premier League appearance, Taylor, pictured right, hit three sixes and 15 fours in his unbeaten century, which lifted Calmore from 57-4 to 226 all out, in reply to Hartley Wintney’s powerful 305-9, of which South African overseas player Ari Karvelas hit 148.
Calmore’s other teenage centurion is Ben Johns, who hit 158 not out against Totton & Eling II earlier this season.
