Former Saints trialist Mark Fotheringham is determined to make the most of his chance to earn a contract at Old Firm rivals Rangers.
The 23-year-old has trained with Walter Smith's first-team squad this week and is eager to resume his career in Scotland, having left Swiss side Aarau last Friday.
Fotheringham began his career at Celtic but moved on after struggling to establish himself in Martin O'Neill's squad.
However a move to Dundee worked out well, and he moved on to German side Freiburg before joining Aarau.
The Swiss side agreed to release Fotheringham last week, when he asked to return to Scotland for personal reasons.
George Burley invited him to Saints for a trial last summer, but didn't follow up his initial interest.
