Kelvin Davis quickly switched his attentions to a vital few days in the Championship for Saints after their FA Cup exit.
His side went down 3-1 to Manchester City, despite a few outstanding saves, but now face Sheffield Wednesday and Derby at St Mary's this week.
It's a massive St Mary's double header in terms of Saints' automatic promotion hopes with the season quickly reaching a crescendo.
Saints are currently fifth, just four points adrift of the second automatic promotion slot but also just two points adrift of seventh-placed Stoke.
Both Wednesday and Derby have two of the division's best away records - Derby have won nine out of their 15 away games while only second-placed Birmingham and the Rams have won more away than the Owls (6).
But Davis is well aware that Saints are one of only four teams to have suffered just a single home defeat in the Championship this season.
Davis said: "The league is what we're going to be judged on and as much as we want a Cup run - being English you want to be in the Cup - the league is what ultimately matters.
"It's disappointing to lose this game but the next two games are massive for us."
