RONALD Koeman has been shortlisted for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for September.
The Saints boss is vying with Jose Mourinho (Chelsea), Neil Warnock (Crystal Palace) and ex-St Mary’s manager Nigel Pearson (Leicester).
In addition, Graziano Pelle and Morgan Schneiderlin are among the six nominees for the Premier League player of the month award.
They are joined by Leicester’s Leonardo Ulloa, Manchester United’s £59m man Angel Di Maria, Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak and Diafra Sakho of West Ham.
Koeman picked up more points than any of the other three shortlisted managers in September.
Saints won all three of their matches against Newcastle, Swansea and QPR.
Mourinho and Warnock both picked up seven points out of nine, while Pearson picked up six – including three in the memorable 5-3 win over Manchester United.
Koeman’s record for the month also included a famous League Cup win at Arsenal.
Pelle scored three goals in the league during September, two in the 4-0 win over Newcastle and a stunning winner against QPR.
The winners will be announced tomorrow morning.
