GARY Hunt is preparing to celebrate a “wicked” year and his fourth Red Bull World Cliff Diving title in Mexico this weekend.
The 30-year-old Southampton-born thrill seeker wrapped up the 2014 series title last month with one event left.
Now Hunt, who previously won the title from 2010-12 inclusive, is bidding for his fourth event victory of the year at Ik Kil, a natural phenomenon close to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza in the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula.
“It’s been a wicked year and it’ll be a pleasure to dive in Mexico knowing the title is already secured,” said the former Commonwealth Games diver.
Hunt enters the final event with 910 points, with second-placed Artem Silchenko - the only other man to have won the world crown in the past five years apart from Hunt – on 680 points.
