Saints first goal against Sunderland is in line for own goal of the season.
Unfortunate Black Cats defender Santiago Vergini scored with one of the most bizarre goals ever seen at St Mary’s.
The 26-year-old Argentine volleyed into his own goal from 18 yards under pressure from Saints strikers leaving goalkeeper Vito Mannone no chance.
Sunderland went on to score another own goal during this 8-0 thrashing when defender Liam Bridcutt bundled the ball into his own goal after a Pelle shot in the second half.
