Goalkeeper Gerry Gurr celebrates his 68th birthday today.
Gurr let in four goals at home to Leicester on his First Division debut in January 1967, but a Ron Davies hat-trick past World Cup winner Gordon Banks helped Saints to a 4-4 draw.
Despite his form leading to talk of an England place of his own, injury marred Gurr’s 49-game Saints spell, which ended in December 1969.
He turned to music as a alternative career, and has been a musical director for his professional vocalist wife Lee Ann.
