GRAZIANO Pelle has been installed as third favourite to win the Premier League’s Golden Boot this season.
The Italian international’s double in Saints' weekend humiliation of Sunderland took his tally to six in eight top flight matches.
As a result, bookies Boylesports have slashed Pelle’s odds to finish as the league’s top marksman from 33/1 to 20/1.
Chelsea’s £32m striker Diego Costa, who has belted nine goals in his first seven league games, is the 5/4 favourite.
Second is Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, who also has nine goals after his four-goal weekend show against Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.
Aguero, who has made just six starts this term plus two off the bench, can be backed at 11/8.
Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at Boylesports, said: “Graziano Pelle has seen some support following his performance against Sunderland.”
In addition, Saints have seen their odds on winning the Premier League title slashed from 750/1 to 300/1.
Chelsea remain the 4/9 favourites from Manchester City 5/2, Manchester United 18/1 and Liverpool 33/1.
