Saints will have Rudi Skacel back for tomorrow's crucial visit of Sheffield Wednesday.
The Czech midfielder has been sorely missed over the last four games after being sidelined by a troublesome achilles injury.
Saints boss George Burley has been desperately short of wide options in midfield with Skacel, Andrew Surman, Djamel Belmadi and Nathan Dyer all unavailable in recent weeks.
In addition, central midfielder Inigo Idiakez has also been injured.
Neither Surman or Dyer has played a senior match in 2007 while Belmadi has not played since the beginning of the season.
But with Dyer nearing full fitness and Skacel in the squad for tomorrow's game at St Mary's, things are finally looking up.
Burley said: "It would be nice to get some of our key players fit.
"Rudi has trained and will be in the squad.
"If we can get one or two others fit, like Inigo Idiakez, Djamel Belmadi and Andrew Surman, it will give us a stronger squad".
