SAINTS are less reliant on Graziano Pelle for their goals than their fellow Premier League high fliers.
The Italian international, below, has made a storming start to life at St Mary’s with six goals in his opening eight league matches.
But his goals represent only 32 per cent of Saints’ total goals.
That compares with Diego Costa, with 39 per cent of Chelsea’s goals, and Sergio Aguero, who has netted exactly half of Manchester City’s strikes.
West Brom are even more reliant on England U21 international Saido Berahino, who has accounted for 60 per cent of his side’s goals.
While Ronald Koeman has seen Pelle hit six league goals so far, his predecessor has not enjoyed such luxuries.
Mauricio Pochettino has only seen one of his strikers, Emmanuel Adebayor, find the target in a league game so far – and he only has a solitary goal!
Saints, meanwhile, have had eight different scorers so far, compared to Tottenham’s four.
Aston Villa have had just two different marksmen so far in their eight games – Andreas Weimann and Gabriel Agbonlahor both scoring just twice.
Chelsea lead the way with ten different scorers, meaning only seven outfielders used this season have failed to score.
