Eastleigh attacking midfielder Jai Reason has helped raise £100,000 for charity.
Reason (pictured), who has been in fine form for the Spitfires this term, donated one of his favourite shirts – a strip match-worn by the late Welsh football legend Gary Speed.
The Silverlake favourite was given the Sheffield United top by Speed, who died in 2011, after a Championship match with Ipswich, where he spent the early part of his career.
The 24-year-old has never washed the shirt and gave it to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
At a big auction full of football memorabilia in aid of the cause, which raises cash for cancer treatments and research, Reason’s shirt fetched an incredible £720 with 36 bids made for it.
