EASTLEIGH’S FA Cup first round visitors Lincoln City have undergone changes at the top.
The Imps have placed manager Gary Simpson on gardening leave and put director and first-team coach Chris Moyses in charge of first-team duties for the “foreseeable future.”
Lincoln, who are due to visit Eastleigh two Saturdays running in the FA Cup (November 8) and the league (November 15), are currently 13th in the Vanarama Conference.
Simpson’s last match in charge was Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Forest Green Rovers – a game they had led 3-0.
Simpson was named Imps manager in February 2013 with the club two places and two points above the relegation zone following David Holdsworth’s departure.
A club statement said: “After reviewing our season so far, taking into account progress made and performance levels achieved, the board has decided to relieve Gary Simpson of his current duties as manager of Lincoln City FC.
“With immediate effect Gary will be placed on “gardening leave” until his future with us can be determined.”
