George Burley hopes Sheffield Wednesday's style of play will suit his side tonight as they start a vital week at St Mary's.

Saints have a home double header against the Owls and table-topping Derby and know picking up maximum points is crucial in the race for an automatic promotion spot.

After a disappointing 0-0 draw against Burnley in their last game at St Mary's, Burley is hoping Wednesday's more adventurous style of play will suit his team.

He said: "They've had a good run - they also lost to Man City in the Cup - and it was a cracking game there, where it was 3-3 when we lost two points in injury time from their keeper coming up for a corner.

"Overall, I was very happy with our performance up there.

"We've got to reproduce our home form as our home form this season has been excellent.

"We've got two home games coming up and got to concentrate to get the six points.

"There's no doubt the Burnley the game was disappointing.

"Burnley never moved out of their half but Wednesday will come and try and play football, which suits us".

He added: "We've got the belief, that's for sure.

"We've lost one game in 15 in the league, our home form's been good, so we're in there.

"We've had a little problem scoring goals at home and that's something we've got to take on board and try and change.

"The boys are in good form and hopefully we can keep in that top six for a promotion push right to the end of the season".
