Darren Powell believes tomorrow's game at rock bottom Luton could be a tougher test than facing high-flying Sunderland on Monday.
The Saints centre half, a rock in the back four that kept a clean sheet at Wolves, believes Luton will go for broke as they battle to stay up.
The Hatters may be without a win in seven games but tomorrow will be their first home fixture since Kevin Blackwell took charge.
Powell said: "These games seem to be harder than playing the teams at the top.
"Luton are fighting for their lives and won't be a pushover.
"If you look at the league, you see some freak results.
"We know what we've got to do - we've got to go there and play to win and they've got to play to win as well.
"It's harder to play the teams at the bottom because they've got nothing to lose.
"If you play a top team, for instance Sunderland, it becomes a more cautious game.
"If they're coming away from home they'd rather get a point than lose, whereas Luton have got to get the three points.
"These games are harder as I see it because if you've got nothing to lose you thrown caution to the wind".
