ANDREW Surman is pictured on the back page of today's Daily Echo, sinking to his knees - a picture which sums up Saints' weekend defeat at Birmingham City.
Surman is pictured after seeing one of a handful of great chances squandered during the 2-1 loss that leaves Saints four points adrift of the Championship play-off zone with just three games left.
George Burley's men now need to win their remaining three games at home to strugglers Leeds and Southend and at mid-table Norwich and hope other results go their way.
Surman said: "It's been the story of our season, especially in the second half with the amount of chances we had.
"We did create enough chances but didn't take them and it cost us.
"We're very down because we wanted to win the game.
"We deserved to - everyone knows that.
"It's hard to take and the boys are sick."
