Claus Lundekvam believes Saints have the "momentum" to plough into the play-offs.
The Saints skipper feels that the team are playing with more freedom since they dropped out of the top six and "are coming up on the rails" as they chase a play-off spot.
Saints travel to Norwich tomorrow knowing they must win to keep their chances alive of banking the £55m windfall that would come with promotion.
But Lundekvam thinks the pressure is all on the faltering sides above them such as Preston, West Brom and Wolves.
He said: "Everyone is very tense and nervous."
