Season ticket holders who have followed George Burley's men away from home will get priority for the away leg of the play-offs - if Saints get there.

Saints will secure a top six finish if they beat Southend in Sunday's sell-out at St Mary's and in the process match or better Stoke's score at QPR.

Tickets for the home leg of the play-off semi-finals would go on sale immediately after the final whistle on Sunday.

Box office staff will meet representatives of the opposing club that night so that tickets for the away leg can go on sale at 8am on Bank Holiday Monday.

Demand is certain to exceed supply so Saints are giving preference to season ticket holders who have been to two or more away games this season and who have those purchases registered against their customer number.

After that, tickets will be made available to season ticket holders who have been to one away game, then to season ticket holders who have not travelled away - all subject to availability.

Any remaining seats would then be offered to members who have travelled and finally to members who have not been away.

Head of Supporter Services David Luker said: "After analysing our database we can clearly see that just under 2,100 season ticket holders have purchased two or more away tickets against their customer number.

"On that basis the first allocation of tickets will be made available to these supporters.

"We are not taking our involvement in the play-offs for granted but with less than a week of selling time before the first leg, it is sensible to draw up arrangements now".

Commercial director Andy Oldknow added: "We are very conscious there will be high demand for the play-off games if we are involved.

"Unfortunately there will not be enough tickets to go round for the away leg so inevitably some fans will be disappointed.

"We are putting forward a policy which recognises the value of season ticket holders to the club.

"In scenarios like this, demand always outstrips supply so you have to make difficult decisions - ours is to put season ticket holders first".

If Saints do make the play-offs, the home leg will be a silver game with tickets going on sale immediately after Sunday's match to season ticket holders wishing to claim their own seats.

The ticket office will remain open until 6pm and tickets can also be booked online or by calling 0800 2800 050 from 3pm until 6pm.

Season ticket holders would have until 8pm on Tuesday May 8 to claim their own seats and 2007-08 season ticket holders who are not 2006-07 season ticket holders would be able to buy one ticket each via the booking line or in person, but not online.

The remaining tickets would go on sale to members on Wednesday May 9 (one ticket per membership).

2006-07 season ticket holders wishing to buy extra seats would be able to do so from Thursday May 10.

Any remaining would go on general sale to Saints supporters already on the database from Friday May 11.

The ticket office would open from 8am until 8pm until both games are sold out. The booking line is open each day from 8.30am until 7pm.

The away club are entitled to 15% of the stadium capacity so season ticket holders in block 42 would have to find alternative seats. Some in block 41 may also be affected.

The team who finish sixth will host the third-placed side at noon on Saturday May 12.

Fifth host fourth 24 hours later at noon on Sunday May 13 - the day thousands of Hampshire football fans are following Totton to Wembley in the FA Vase final.

That would currently be Wolves v West Brom but that tie could yet involve Saints depending on the final day results.

The return legs are just three days later. The club finishing third will be home to the sixth placed side on Tuesday May 15 with fourth hosting fifth on Wednesday May 16.

Both games kick off at 7.45pm.
