WITH a ten-letter surname it's been said that Steven Kattenhorn should be talked about as one of golf's bigger names and last week he went a little way to proving it.
Playing in the first Europro Tour order of merit event of the season, the Corhampton professional finished in a tie for 27th place on five over par in the Wensum Valley International Open - just a few shots behind former European Tour regular Russell Claydon and the same as Zane Scotland, the youngest player to qualify for the Open.
Scoring was tough all week in the three-round event held at the Norwich club but, after coming through the rigours of the Sky Sports Qualifying School last month, the 24-year-old was in no mood to miss out.
"The main thing was to try and make the cut and get a little bit of money back," said the Wickham resident. "It costs £275 to enter each tournament so you really cannot afford to have too many blank weeks."
