GRAZIANO Pelle will be focused on continuing his hot run of form for Italy today as he eyes selection for Euro 2016.

The big striker has netted 11 goals for club and country in 21 appearances this season and is in a determined mood not to let that peter out.

Especially as he is hoping to represent his country at the finals of Euro 2016 in France next summer.

The Saints top-scorer and his Azzurri team-mates visit Brussels tonight for a friendly against the best team in the world right now – according to FIFA’s rankings anyway – Belguim (7.45pm).

That game will potentially see Pelle, who is looking to score his third goal for his country this term, come up against former Saints defender Toby Alderweireld.

Italy qualified for the tournament that starts in June, having gone unbeaten in Group H, and the 30-year-old striker has laid down a marker for himself as preparations begin.

He is aiming to continue to perform for Saints and help them to another great season in the Premier League, hoping that it will lead to success with Antonio Conte’s team too.

“I won’t be happy if I go to national team (next summer) and didn’t do a great season for Southampton,” he told Saints’ YouTube channel.

“For me it has to go both in the same way and I know that I reached the national team because of Southampton and the performance here.

“I will do my best every game, every game, try to do my best I can do toward the end.

“First finish a higher position we can with Southampton and after enjoy and then start the competition that is the Euro competition.

“I’m really focused and I can’t wait to play the next game and the next game.”

Meanwhile Saints trio Virgil van Dijk, Maarten Stekelenburg and Jordy Clasie will look to put Euro 2016 disappointment behind them tonight with the Netherlands.

The Saints players will lineup for Danny Blind’s side, who failed to qualify for the European championship last month, at the Millennium Stadium to face Wales in a friendly.

Ryan Bertrand and England meanwhile travel to Alicante (7.45pm) to face Spain in a friendly as they get their preparations for next summer’s tournament underway.

The Three Lions made it to the finals after going through the qualification stage unbeaten.

Dusan Tadic is also in friendly action with Serbia, who face the Czech Republic (7.30pm).
