SADIO Mane’s late goal rescued a draw for Senegal in their 2018 World Cup second-round qualifier first-leg against Madagascar in Antananarivo.
The Saints man had been an injury doubt before kick-off, but shook it off in time to rally his countrymen late on in the 2-2 draw after Madagascar put the frighteners on Senegal.
Aliou Cisse’s side were 2-0 by the hour-mark, but Moussa Konate pulled one back with 20 minutes to go.
Mane, who started the match, then stepped up and made it 2-2 with just ten minutes left to swing the double header in Senegal’s favour ahead of their home game.
The deciding leg for a place in the group stages of qualifying takes place on Tuesday in Dakar.
