FA CUP heroes Eastleigh are celebrating the biggest sponsorship coup in their history.
Winchester-based company Utilita Energy have agreed a six-figure deal with the soaring Spitfires which will run for a minimum of three years with the opportunity to extend.
From June 1, 2016 , Utilita – the UK’s leading smart pre-pay energy provider - will display their logo on Eastleigh’s home and away shirts as well as on selected leisurewear and within the stadium.
The company’s chief executive officer Bill Bullen said: “Eastleigh’s remarkable story mirrors our own: we are both proud of our Hampshire roots but, after a period of outstanding growth, we are making big waves nationally.
“We have heard of the board’s long-term plans for Eastleigh and we couldn’t fail to be impressed. The ambition at the club is infectious. Many of our staff are Eastleigh fans and residents, so we already know about their success.”
This is not Utilita’s first foray into football. In October last year they signed a deal to sponsor the Scottish League Cup.
Delighted Spitfires chairman Stewart Donald is thrilled to have Utilita Energy’s backing. “We have come a long way in a short space of time and it speaks volumes that we can attract a company of their standing,” he said.
“There are many similarities between us and we have been blown away by their enthusiasm and ideas.
“This will not merely be another shirt sponsorship deal – Utilita Energy are keen to get involved with all aspects of growing the club and we could not be happier.”
