BACK IN 1976 FA Cup final mangers Lawrie McMenemy and Tommy Docherty were proud to lead out their teams - but had to stand and watch at the end of the game as the players received their medals.
Not so Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson at this season's final.
And there was another Wembley occasion when the managers caused a stir by unexpectedly climbing the 39 steps to the Royal Box at the end of the game.
One of them was Brian Clough and McMenemy has first-hand knowledge of who the other was.
