SAINTS' football board will this week vote on whether to accept a supporters' representative joining their group.
A key point in Michael Wilde's Planning for Success' manifesto prior to his regime gaining control at St Mary's last June was electing a fan to the football board.
At the last football board meeting at St Mary's, the directors did not vote in favour of a supporter's representative.
But acting football board chairman Leon Crouch and fellow board member Mary Corbett have since met with Saints Trust officials and the subject is now back on the agenda at this Thursday's meeting.
Trust chairman Steve Godwin said: "We're fairly hopeful of winning a vote."
