EASTLEIGH have this afternoon announced the signing of defender Ayo Obileye.
The 21-year-old, 6ft 4in centre back, joins Chris Todd’s Spitfires on a two-year deal.
Having started his career at Leyton Orient and Chelsea, Obileye featured at youth/development squad level for Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.
More recently he has clocked up more than 40 appearances in two loan spells with then League Two outfit Dagenham & Redbridge who will be joining Eastleigh in the National League this season.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Obileye becomes the Spitfires' ninth summer signing, replacing ex-Port Vale defender Richard Duffy who had a change of heart and joined Notts County instead.
He will join up with the rest of squad on Wednesday as they head to Scotland for pre-season friendlies against Hamilton Academical (Wednesday) and East Kilbride (Saturday).
