IN a novel twist, Saints are being linked with a move for a Tottenham player!
Fans have been used to the north London club being linked with moves for Saints players (and managers) in recent times.
But today Saints, according to the Daily Star, are reportedly interested in a £5m move for Spurs right back Kieran Trippier, a former England under-21 international.
Saints boss Claude Puel is after an attacking right back, to give Euro 2016 winner Cedric Soares competition for his place.
The 25-year-old Trippier was signed by Mauricio Pochettino from Burnley in the summer of 2015 after the former Manchester City trainee had been an ever present for the Clarets in the top flight.
But he only made six Premier League appearances last season for Spurs, and 16 in all competitions.
