Josh Goodall is determined to put his miserable Wimbledon behind him by making it into the US Open for the second year running.
The 21-year old Hampshire right-hander lost in the opening round of the mens' doubles with partner Paul Hutchins in a marathon match that took three days to complete due to rain delays.
The pair eventualy lost 6-2 3-6 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 to the Russian duo Igor Kunitsyn and Dmitry Tursunov.
Goodall, who also exited the mens' singles at the first hurdle last week to Tim Henman's conqueror Feliciano Lopez of Spain, had hoped he and Hutchins would be able to build on their appearance in the doubles final at the recent Nottingham Open by making it to the latter stages.
Instead he will now focus on improving his singles ranking at Challenger tournaments in Manchester and Nottingham before heading stateside in preparation for the US Open which begins at the end of August.
