Emma Weeks battled the elements to win the third Ryder Cup Wales 2010 WPGA One-Day Series event of the season at Corhampton Golf Club.
Weeks, a 28-year-old from the nearby Bramshaw Golf Club in Brook, carded a level-par 73 to win by one stroke from Marie Allen, of Brookmans Park in Hertfordshire.
Heavy rain delayed the later starters towards the end of their rounds as squeegees had to be employed to clear some of the greens of water - and that affected Weeks as she was in the last group out.
"The course was in good condition but we had a hold-up when the greens flooded and we got drenched," said Weeks, who admitted she had no idea how good her round was going to be as she came down the stretch.
"You just go out and play your best and if it is good enough it is good enough.
"I thought if I could post level par it would be a pretty good score so I just tried to get it round.
"I was three over after four holes but managed to birdie the par fives, playing steady golf all the way round."
